Academia Industry Interface (AII)
Universities and industry, which for long have been operating in separate domains, are rapidly inching closer to each other to create synergies. The constantly changing management paradigms, in response to growing complexity of the business environment, today, have necessitated these two to come closer. A productive interface between academia and industry in the present times of knowledge economy is a critical requirement. Failure to recognize each other’s role will reduce the interface between institute and industry; and it can potentially give rise to mismatch between demand and supply of manpower, which, in turn, can cause disruption in the job market.
LPU has a separate department, namely Department of Academia Industry Interface, that monitors the Academia Industry Interaction at the University level. The department is responsible to enter into academic alliances with different Institutions/ Industry Sectors/Consortiums with a view to develop, refine or modify Curricula etc. as per specific needs.
The Department of Academia Industry Interface performs the following activities:
Memberships
AII is also responsible for creating alliances with various Associations/ Bodies of the employers/ other similar agencies with a view to derive working relationships and to develop and reciprocate matching competency.
Academic Alliances
AII facilitates the process of curriculum development as per professional needs of the industry to make it more dynamic and job oriented. LPU has associated itself with various tech-application companies by exposing the students to sessions from Industry Experts and hands on experience on state-of-the-art tools and licensed software.
Research and Development
AII explores the potential areas of Research depending on the needs/ projections of the respective Sectors of the Industry. LPU and “Industry” work collectively for the development of R&D Centre to infuse influences and best practices of Industry to restructure Academia.
LPU students work under the supervision of Expert Faculty and guidance of “Industry” in the development of Projects. Hands-on educational experience at LPU emphasizes interdependency between theory (e.g. design) & application (e.g. manufacturing/product realization) in a business environment
Industrial Consultancy
